Dear Friends,

We have decided to temporarily close the Power Plant in an effort to protect our team and the community that has supported us over the last eight years.

This has been the most difficult decision we have had to make in our professional lives. The climbing gym has been a source of comfort and strength for all of us, and it pains us to close our doors.

Despite the financial implications of this decision, we strongly believe that flattening the curve is the only way we, as local business owners, can address this public health emergency.

We have no intention to stop our progress in St. Charles. We are motivated to bring the Steel Shop online and to re-open the Power Plant as soon as it is safe to do. We will continue to share our progress on social media and look forward to reconnecting with you.

In this time of uncertainty, one thing is certain: we cannot cover the crushing expenses of managing two facilities now that our ability to generate revenue has been severely limited.

The ownership team has already suspended its salaries in order to prioritize our expenses – most importantly, the exceptional team of people who keep the gym open every day.

We understand that this crisis affects all of us, but for those of you who are able to, please keep your memberships active so that we can continue paying the most vulnerable members of our team. However, if you would like to update the status of your membership, you may do so here.

If you are not a member, we would greatly appreciate your support as well. Here’s how you can help.

Sincerely,

Ian Anderson
